How Wounded Warrior Status Affects Your SSD Claim

Many veterans are completely unaware of the fact that wounded warrior status could help expedite their SSD (Social Security Disability) claim, regardless of whether their disability was caused while on active duty with the military. On the other hand, individuals who are receiving benefits through the Wounded Warriors program may not be eligible to claim SSD benefits.

This is due to the fact that veteran benefits are calculated based on the extent of an individual’s disabilities and even veterans who have sustained less than fully disabling injuries, and are able to work may still quality for disability benefits. To qualify for SSD benefits an individual must have sustained injuries or illnesses that prevent them from being able to work for at least 12 months.

If you are a veteran who lives or is currently based in North Carolina and you need assistance obtaining disability benefits, Golson, McCracken Inc. can help. We believe that those who have fought so bravely to protect our freedom deserve to have advocates who fight for them, and who are dedicated to protecting their best interests.

Our team is committed to doing everything we can to help disabled members of the military recover the benefits they truly deserve. To find out whether you qualify for SSD benefits in addition to your veteran disability benefits, contact our firm and schedule to speak with one of our North Carolina Social Security Disability advocates as soon as possible. After a consultation we will be able to advise you of the benefits that could be pursued, and can assist you in preparing your claim.
